Go Western, Young Man, with a Rustic Chandelier

If you live in a log home or just one with a rustic flavor, you’ll be interested in the huge variety of rustic chandeliers on the market today. They range from small wood pieces to massive chandeliers with numerous arms, lights, and decorative features. Most of them have a very back-to-nature theme with deer and wildlife being very prevalent and even a few acorns and pine trees thrown in.

The Fancy Stuff

One really fancy model is the Two-Tier Deer Head Rustic Chandelier. It would take a room with high ceilings to accommodate this beauty. It is 36” high and 44” wide. As it says, it’s built on two round tiers. The bottom tier contains 8 lights, and the top tier has 6, so that means there are 14 lights in all, and each takes a 60 watt bulb. Can you even begin to imagine how much light this chandelier would put out! It would be far too harsh in a smaller space, so a large room is a must.

Another cool, but very different, chandelier is the Tree Branch Panel with lantern, bear, moose, and deer. It is a box shape with a square lantern on each corner. Each side features an animal on a panel framed with tree branches. Lights shine through each side panel as well as in each lantern. It looks very rustic, however, it also has some downsides. For one, it’s quite expensive at $2750.00. And although it looks like wood, it’s actually made of resin.

There are many different elaborate chandeliers that will fit into a rustic décor. Some would be ideal over a pool table. Others would become a game room or den focal point. They are particularly great if you have high, beamed ceilings. Many of these include resin deer heads for someone who likes to hunt. There are websites which feature these elaborate creations, such as www.sisalnet.com or www.aspenlighting.com.

Plainer and More Functional

You’ll probably be glad to know, though, that you can satisfy your rustic taste with much smaller rustic chandeliers and at much more affordable prices. For instance, you might like the Black Bear Chandelier which sells for $650. It is a shallow drum shape, and around the sides are black bears silhouetted against amber mica glass. The framework is of antique copper. Or maybe you’d prefer the Grand Old River Canoe Chandelier for $370. You’ll find both of these at Aspen Lighting.

Whether you have a home that can house a huge, elaborate rustic chandelier or need a smaller model, you’ll find plenty to choose from on the Internet. Some of them are truly fantastic to look at, so even if you aren’t in the market to buy a chandelier, you might just enjoy browsing the pages and looking at these truly gorgeous rustic lights. Who knows but what you might change your mind about buying one?
